Our Movement
The reform movement began in the 1970s in Uganda and gained significant momentum in the 1990s. It was born out of a desire for greater spiritual freedom, justice and transparency within the community.
Our movement was born as a reaction to a group of people who were petitioning for reform in the community, being excommunicated by the Syedna. Undeterred, this reformist ideology took hold and led to the establishing of independent mosques and religious institutions and as well as online platforms designed to raise awareness and build a global network of like-minded believers.
